William R. (Bill) Parr is President, WRParr Consulting, LLC. Bill’s focus is assisting companies or private equity firms in developing and implementing practical solutions in procurement, full-value productivity improvement, strategic planning, and M&A integration.
Bill has been a senior supply chain / operations executive in the global metals and chemicals industries and has broad general management experience. He has developed and implemented strategies to transform procurement and logistics and drive productivity improvement. He has designed processes to develop and carry-out strategic plans and integrate acquisitions. Bill has extensive commercial experience including procurement, logistics, negotiating complex asset and joint venture agreements, and sales/marketing. Bill has worked in private equity and public ownership structures with Aleris International, Mosaic/IMC Global, and Exxon Chemical and has international experience.
Professional Experience
· President, WRParr Consulting, LLC. Bill has worked with a large private equity firm on a procurement initiative to achieve savings across several indirect categories and multiple companies. He managed the supplier interface from RFP through agreement in principle.
· Vice President, Global Operations, Integration, and Strategic Planning with Aleris International ($6B aluminum recycler and producer). In this role, Bill’s primary focus was transforming the indirect procurement function, implementing manufacturing improvement initiatives (notably Lean Sigma), integration of acquisitions, and oversight of strategic planning processes. He worked closely with the operations group of the private equity owner of the company.
· Vice President, Logistics at IMC Global ($2B mining and chemical company). In addition to procuring transportation services and leading supply planning, Bill also had key leadership responsibilities on special projects, including a complex restructuring of the supply chain of a critical raw material to form a profitable joint venture, and due diligence and integration teams associated with the formation of Mosaic ($4.5B mining and chemical company).
· Director, Catalyst Business for Univation Technologies, an Exxon Chemical / Union Carbide joint venture. Bill was a member of the startup leadership team and responsible for catalyst P&L.
· Business Manager for Exxon Chemical, Europe, located in Brussels, Belgium. Bill was responsible for sales/marketing for the region and business unit P&L stewardship.
· Technology Manager, Exxon Chemical. Bill was responsible for product and manufacturing process R&D and involved with global technology planning.
· Business Planning Manager, Exxon Chemical. Bill was business team leader and accountable for S&OP process, raw material procurement and P&L reporting, and involved in strategic planning.
· Regional Sales Manager, Exxon Chemical.
